“Truth hurts!” That’s what they say. And I do agree, for the most part, but perhaps not entirely. One aspect of truth is that, as the Lord Jesus Christ says, it also brings freedom—it frees people (John 8:30-38). While Jesus primarily speaks of truth in relation to freeing us from sin, I believe this idea applies to many aspects of reality.
What also comes to mind about truth is its connection to love—specifically, God’s unconditional love. “Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth” (1 Corinthians 13:6). It’s interesting that in this verse, “unrighteousness” seems to be contrasted with “truth” or “sin” with “truth.” Originally, I thought the opposite of truth was simply a lie. But I’ve come to see that truth isn’t just about facts—it’s something deeper, something alive, because Christ Himself said, ‘I am the Truth.’
In 1 Corinthians 13:6, it says that Love—God’s unconditional love—rejoices with the truth. And yet, understanding Proverbs 27:6 (NIV): “Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses,” we see that while truth can hurt, it’s for our own good. Deception, even if it appears pleasant or enticing, can lead us to destruction and sin.
So, perhaps the challenge or question we must ask ourselves is: “Are we telling the truth to others? Are we being true to them? Are we pursuing the Truth?” We should be careful how we view “truth,” because Christ Himself said, “He is the Truth.”

On these present times, these words seem to become so dull, blur and never clear. Because these times? People seem to choose what truth is and what is right. Disregarding the Bible as truth or being the right guide for our lives, people will claim their own ideas, perspectives, experiences, feelings or belief to be truth and right.
Indeed, this is not just a philosophical or scientific problem, which many people nowadays simply shrug off and never give much importance or thought of. It is one of the very important issues in life and for everyone that should find the answer in order to deal with it. Why? Because in all honesty and reality we also have what we call “falsehood” or a “lie”. And whenever people follow or believe in falsehood or a lie, what follows are negative and never a satisfying consequence.
Sure, there may be some “fun” in it or selfish satisfaction in these, but it is sure to last only for a moment of time. In the end, pain and suffering lurks. Destruction follows after — destroyed family, destroyed relationships, destroyed trust, destroyed lives, etc. And sometimes the funny thing about human beings, even if they say they don’t believe in God, somewhere in their heart they blame God for their destroyed lives. When pain and suffering creeps, they tend to blame “Someone”, and that would usually be God, the Creator of heaven and earth.
But how do we truly know what is Truth and What is Right? Is it truly based on our own ideas? Our thoughts? Our decisions? Our experiences or feelings? Or is it based on the majority’s decision?
The growing issue or becoming prominent idea what is truth and what is right are becoming based on individual’s idea or feeling of what is right. Statements like “I’m like this because this is the truth of who I am.” Or “This is how I feel so this is truth!” or “You don’t understand what I feel!” and that tends to be their truth and what they think is right.
But if we get this concept or idea of how truth is, that is based on how “we” feel or think. If a murder thinks or feels killing is right or is the truth! Or if a rapist thinks or feels raping women is right or the truth! What then? Surely this is not the basis of truth! Truth cannot be standardized or be based or founded on what “we” or “I” think or feel or experience, because humans are NOT ALL the same.
Now I remember my philosophy teacher teaching that everything is based on what we call “HAPPINESS”. Or, that we should probably base truth or what is right in this so called “Universal Happiness”. But is that really truth? From what I understood from his lectures, the majority or the whole humanity is centered in this called “Happiness”. And, therefore one should depend or base truth in this “universal happiness.”? The problem, does such thing exist? Again, as I’ve said, “Human beings are NOT ALL THE SAME.” Each individual are unique. Not even an identical twin is exactly completely the same. No, they are not. Which means, each individual’s happiness may vary or uniquely different. There may be individuals or a group of people having the same kind of “happiness” but it can’t cover everybody. Some are happy with rain, some are not. Many may be happy when the sun shines, but there are those that aren’t, like those who have “photodermatitis” (allergic to light). In other words, happiness or the majority’s happiness is not the basis of truth and right.
Another illustration or something to learn from why truth can not be dependent on the majority’s idea or thought or experiences as truth can be learned from the story “the boy who cried wolf”. It is a nursery or kindergarten story that teaches about the importance of honesty and trust. But on the later part we could see how truth can not depend on the majority. Although the story has connection about what we call “lie” or falsehood but we would see in the end that the majority of the people didn’t believe the boy who cried wolf. Which in reality of the end of story, there was truly a wolf — in effect the boy suffered its consequence. From this story we can see that truth can’t be based in the majority, for when falsehood or lie is believed by the majority, then doom cometh after.
Now what? Here is where I’ll offer the basis of “Truth” and you’ll probably shrug this off or just stop reading by this time. But if you have a little time and an eye or even an ear to lend, listen to this view or perspective of “Truth”. Thing is, this is NOT my original experience, idea or perspective. Neither is this something that originally came from a group of believers or of a vast majority. But it all starts with the God of the Bible, the Scripture, the Book of books and it also points to Jesus Christ, the Son of God. If you understand the Christian Faith, the God of the Bible is a Three Person in One Godhead, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit – and they are still One. It is actually hard to understand, but if you have faith, you will understand.
Now what is the God of the Bible, the Bible or Jesus Christ has got to do with “Truth” and “Right”. You see, the God of the Bible never changes as the Bible states in Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord, I change not”; Also in Hebrews 13:8 it says “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” And Jesus said too in John 14:6 “…I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Now, take note! God or Jesus is TRUTH and He never changes. With that reality, we can be assured that the Truth we believe in is not a lie or falsehood. Therefore God is the basis of what is Truth and what is Right!
In addition, have you ever asked, “Where did right and wrong came from? Or How did we know what is right and wrong?” Did man invent it? Saying this is right and that is wrong! No, God Who is the basis of what is right and wrong printed these in our hearts and minds. That is why from the beginning, man always knew! But because of man’s original sin, this had become blur or incomplete or corrupted. A very prominent evidence is what man is experiencing today. It never was God’ s fault, it was man’s disobedience. Man betrayed the God Who created him.
Now again, this is just what I can offer. You may decide to believe it or not. Because, that is just one of God’s Character and God’s gift to us: a will to decide. The first man decided for himself to disobey God which had made a great consequence of all the things we are experiencing. And again because of God’s grace, mercy and love He still offers a way back to Him while we are still alive and that is through believing on Who Jesus Christ is – the Truth. That is why Jesus said “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29)

This 70th Birthday Celebration was organized by the churches and individuals whom my father’s ministry was touched by the sharing of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Much thanks to Mng Joana Kis-ing being the main coordinator and planner of this event and Minac Baptist Church who prepared and hosted the occasion, being the first church my father pioneered. And to all who took part in this, we thank you all! (we can not name you all ngem ni Apo ti makin amo ken mang-subalit kadakayo).
My father was born June 2, 1953 and to correct his spiritual birthday, it was on February 6, 1976 when he placed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior (and not what I said to Ptr. Melchor, because I wasn’t sure then). His first ministry in teaching / preaching was in 1976 at Camp 6 for a month after his conversion and on 1978, he joined Ptr. Dawal in the Pocket Testament League. He and Ptr. Dawal roamed around showing films and preaching the gospel. Some of the stories or personal experiences with my father are narrated on the videos below as they reminisce the times they were with my father or have encountered his ministry / service.
(note: Sorry, wasn’t able to take all videos, but here are videos of others that I was able to acquire from my sister Jochebed and her husband Japhet and from Minac Baptist Church. And oh, sorry if you can’t understand, because most of them spoke in the Ibaloi or Nabaloi Dialect)

Well, I’m writing this as a review on my recent purchase of an electric bike or e-bike… I don’t know what brand this is but it looks like from China.. Bought it from shopee where you can see the screen shot below:

Here’s the product I bought:

Well at least it looks almost the same with the one posted at shopee. So far it looks good. For my first test or try, it does work. Me and my brother tested it within just a few meters. Like say 10-15 meters. Thing is I’m planning to use this supposedly for travelling to my work place which is approximately about 7 km. away from our house. And so I have to test drive it, if it can really reach to my work place if ever.
By the way, I live in Baguio City or here in the mountainous Cordillera, where slopes of land and even steep ones are found…
But before sharing my experience on this, below is the shop’s description for this product:

For the test drive, I haven’t really charged the battery for this. I just saw that when I switch on the ebike, it lights up and shows a full bar battery. I bought a cheap helmet for me since, I think it is prohibited to use a bike without a helmet.. even bought raincoats in preparation for rainy period if ever.. and oh yes, I’m about 5’7” which makes the ebike really kind of small for me. So when I ride it, it looks like just a toy to be played with and not really a travelling vehicle.
But because crude oil and gasoline are going high in price, and added to this is the traffic jam, I’m considering to use electric bikes. Though the real challenge is the slopy or steep roads we have here in Baguio City.
So October 22, 2022, I tried it for a test drive. And sure enough the max speed that I got on a flat surface was ranging from 25-30 kmph. Sadly I haven’t made a screenshot for this. I just used a random app with my smartphone to see the speed and how many kilometers it can really go.
And you know what? I reached about 11 km. only and my battery was now empty or kind of really struggling to support the bike. It took me almost 40 minutes for that 11 km. (based on the app I was using) which is actually just near my work place (maybe about 50-75 meters far). So I turned back to go home now.
Alas! Without the power of electric or by means of manual pedaling, it was really an exercise! Esp. when it goes up on a steep road. It’s not like a mountain bike that you could adjust to ease up the pedaling. No, it was just simply as it is – requires to exert much effort to pedal. By the way, what was previously displayed by the shop on the weight that can be supported, I think this is based on a flat surface. But when placed in a slope / steep surface, it may not support 120 kg., I would probably set it to about 90 kg.? given that the slope is not about 25 degrees?.. more than that, I’d rather walk since even the bike itself is really heavy. Oh yes, the bike is really heavy. I haven’t weigh it though but the shop said it’s 25 kg. The one in the video though in the shopee website, they portrayed it as it was not really heavy but in actually I had a hard time carrying it.
So, I’m quite having doubts in using it for traveling to my work place… But I figured, maybe it wasn’t really charged to the max. So I would probably test it out again when I have free time and when it is truly fully charged. Anyway, reading the specification, the weight of the person who would be driving the ebike also affects how far it can go. I suppose the slope of the road might also affect the distance on how far it can go. I got home for almost 1 hour and 15 minutes for that matter. Good thing most of the road going back home are going down a slope, few were going up.
Here’s my screen shot when at home:

Overall, I recommend this for those who are in the lowlands / those with flat areas and for really short distances of travel. As for using this in the mountainous area, if roads are atleast 25-30 degrees slope then that can be still feasible. But if it goes higher, I don’t recommend this as it will really be tiring and defeats the purpose of having an e-bike. So that’s my take for now.
Will edit it if there are changes on my next test drive for the electric bike / e-bike here in Baguio City, Benguet, Philippines.
*************************************************************************************************************************
Well, it is February 18, 2023 and almost 4 months I’ve actually been using this e-bike going to work.
And to correct my previous post, indeed, my first try was not really charged to the full. The battery measuring device may not actually show the real battery power stored. So on a daily basis, I’ve been charging my battery and I think, the max charging time is 4 hours and not 10 hours as the online shop has posted. In fact if it is not that fully drained, it can only charge 1-2 hours, As long as the charging box turns to green. And to note: after charging, one must remove the cable from the battery, as I’ve noticed it seems to discharge when the cable is still stuck on the battery.
And as I have previously posted my thoughts on the battery, it seems to consume more power when going uphill. It consumes less when going down hill. A reason why I have to charge again in my work / office my battery to be sure I get home. Haven’t really tried anymore to have a round trip going from home to office then office to home with just one charged battery. I have to charge in the office since I get half bar when I get to the office and the battery really feels weak when already in half battery. I could feel or observe it when going up hill. There is a difference with a full powered battery going up hill to a half-full battery. That is why I believe the 25 km. max distance covered decreases when the weight and terrain factors are considered. Again this ebike is very much recommended in the plain or flat terrain.
For those here in the mountains, it is a personal decision and risk. But atleast there are terrains it can handle and pedaling also helps. And if you are interested in using it for exercise, this is one good recommendation. Speaking of exercise, I actually need to exercise too and this is one good means. Somehow it gives me time to exercise when going up hill. The downside is, I have to change clothes when going to work. That is why I always bring with me my extra clothes or uniform actually. Atleast, I am not super wet because to be honest, if I would be fully be exercising with just a bike, I probably am super wet and super tired in work. But with this ebike? It is just exactly enough, because I really have not much exercise.
And again, the benefits or advantages of this ebike other than exercise is that, it is “iwas-traffic” (don’t get into traffic jam). Specially these times here in Baguio, traffic jam is becoming a norm. When no traffic, I usually get to work for more or less 30 minutes.. but due to traffic, it turns to 45 minutes to 1 hour or even more if it is super traffic. So getting used to this ebike, I think I get to work just as the same as 30 minutes. It is lesser when going home since my route has more down hill. Other than “iwas-traffic”, it is environment friendly since I use battery. I mean comparing to smoke and everything, this ebike does not give out smoke.
The downside of using this ebike though is, I can’t really use it when I would like to go purchase for groceries or market or something. Although, for the long time I’ve been using this ebike, I’ve encountered (i think) another ebike with a carrier on their back. I think it is more of a trike. Here in my hometown. Just that their speed is I think lessened to be careful of their groceries. And yeah, the speed of this ebike is really not that competitive with others. I mean it is faster than an ordinary bike (though perhaps depends on the biker) but not as fast as a motorbike. Nevertheless, the most important for me is I get to where my destination is. Oh yes, I also encountered another ebike here in my hometown, but as per my observation, his’ is more powerful than mine. Thing is, when going uphill I have to pedal, but him didn’t need to and only used his motor / ebike. I suppose those ebike are upgraded and may be using a much better motor than mine. I just wonder how much was that ebike. I’ve been seeing too some new ebikes on the online shops that are maybe larger than this and have higher or better features but of course has a higher cost.
One of my colleagues though have shared a possible cons on this ebike. That is, what if the parts are destroyed, does it have replacements? sure enough that is one. But I hope online shops can offer these. Anyway, I do think ebikes or e-vehicles will be a thing of the future, so I hope these will be dealt with sooner or later. Speaking of which, crude oil or gas are still going up and it seems there are no plans of lowering these things. That is why these times, I’m trying to invest in renewable energy such as using solars for that matter. I am not an expert on these though that’s why I’m asking my brother who is an Electronics and Communications Engineering.
Overall personal verdict, this ebike is just plainly useful and beneficial for me. I just hope it will last long and it will justify the almost P15,000 worth.

Update: Here is a video of me using my ebike:

Well almost a year now, I’ve been using my ebike and there are some let’s just say “wear and tear” that I have observed… and it’s my battery.. it seems it is getting weaker as time has passed by… although it can still be enough to be used for my travel to my work and back to home (anyway I charge the battery at my work just to be sure).. thing is it feels like half of it’s battery capacity is now like totally unable to charge.. well that’s just my observation . I’m not really into this techy side. I mean on electric matters.
Nevertheless, I’ve been able to order again a new battery with a higher capacity.. my old battery is labeled as 8Ah while the new one is 20Ah… I haven’t tested it yet… but will try it soon, probably tomorrow if it is not raining. Oh by the way.. I rarely use it esp. when it is really raining. I have to commute if that happens.
So will update this when I have tested my new battery.. which is by the way.. more than half of the price of this ebike I bought.

Edited: November 11, 2023
Hello again! This is now my review on my ebike having a new 20 Ah battery and a new seat since my old seat actually had a broken…. what do you call that? the metal rod that holds the seat or something….? well, it broke and seating on it was dangerous.. It can’t support me anymore… Which is the reason I got to buy a new one… So I would also give my feedback on the product I bought… PLUS!??? I got a new action cam… not a GoPro.. but a simple and cheap Action Cam….. let me show these products first… Right now, I all bought this at Lazada.com….
Here is the battery I bought and the price and I think I’ll go on to my review or feedback right away on these products I bought online:

Well? it is really pricey isn’t it? almost like I bought a new e-bike… Anyway, judging from it’s performance here in the mountains… or land area where there are inclined terrains… So far it’s life capacity is really longer than my previous battery which is labeled as 8Ah… while this is 20Ah… I got to actually ride thrice (3x) from home to work, work to home and home to work again…. and then I charge… I tried riding it 4x but it got me into trouble… as the ebike is really heavy …. it seems to put on brakes when no battery is left…. And again… not sure but hopefully it would really last that way and not as what I observed on my previous battery, which is lessening it’s battery capacity as it runs and go through time or in wear and tear period…
Some of my observation is that when at full capacity, going through a slanting or an inclining terrain, I really have to pedal but it is easier. Whereas, comparing to the nearing 0 battery and going through the slanting terrain, it has a bit of a hard push on pedaling. Meaning, I have to do more exercise when my battery is depleting. And actually experienced losing battery or empty battery in the middle of going to my work… I tried to walk for about probably a kilometer or less, which made me to decide to take a taxi instead and loaded the ebike. Since, it was really heavy and I was already sweating A LOT! That’s where I understood, I could only ride it 3x from either home to work or work to home.
But overall, it works fine! Just wondering though for how long will this battery of 20Ah lasts… again I’m not really an electrician or what so I don’t know anything about computing for those… I’ll just have to wait and see.
Here are the others I said I bought:

Here’s the seat I bought online… At first use… I actually wasn’t comfortable… it was like I think “hot” sitting on it… and I wasn’t really comfortable… I couldn’t feel the cushion or the spring…. So I can’t really tell if this is legit or just an imitation.
when pressing though, it seem to have cushion. So I was thinking… maybe it can not support my weight. Cause at some point I am quite heavy… but recently, I think I’m getting the hang of it.. but still I don’t feel the comfort or the cushion or the spring….
So if you are planning to buy this.. Buy it at your own risk…
Here is the other one that I bought in Lazada.com…. an Action Cam…. and a cheap one at that:

well? this cam is not really that well known like the GoPro… To me at my first glance I thought it looks good… But alas! When I bought it? It looked like a toy camera to me.. it had plastic covering… but the screen was alright though….
Have tested the memory that was part of what I paid for… it was a 64 GB memory… and it was legit as I’ve tested it.
But how was it using it? I must say, it functions well… But again since it is cheap, it has it’s kind of down side of it… as I have said, it’s shell was like simply plastic.. and it is looks very fragile so it needs much taking care of it…
And so as I tested my ebike… I also tested my cam… and so far it was working well… the video may not be as sharp as others would provide.. but it works… given that I think I bought this a little lesser than a thousand.. (Cause of the discounts or vouchers)
You can see the videos below.
Someone previously asked on the battery or how long its battery last? well it somehow lasted 30 minutes and the battery wasn’t even exhausted. If I remember it right, I think it only consumed one bar as I looked at the battery..
Overall? I think it was fine for me to buy it… I might use it later… Just that I don’t believe it is a 1080p… You can see the actual take on my video below.
Now here are the videos I recorded testing my battery, my camera and my seat… By the way, this video is actually a 30-minutes long but since watching it for 30 minutes are boring, I made it short or fast forwarded it into 5 minutes and 15 minutes.
here is the 5 minute video with some editing (an auto-shake feature).. please note that at the end is an arrow pointing in my battery gauge for the ebike… which is still 3 bars left unlike my previous battery where it is already usually at one bar arriving to work.
here is the 15 minute video with not much video editing.. and again, on the arrow
So… that’s all for now.. hope at least you get to enjoy my video… =D
About 2000 years ago a baby was born… His Name is Jesus… a proof of Him being born is the year we are numbering…. What year is it now? Those years are counted starting from the day Jesus Christ died, buried and rose again… Why are we counting the years based on His death? because we are counting the years when might He come back as He has promised….
But the greatest news that we need to understand is WHY did He come in the first place? Many people in their knowledge have their own answers to this question. But can they really answer “WHY?”. Can people really answer when they themselves weren’t there? No, they cannot! Unless Someone was truly there and can explain the details as to “WHY?”. And that Someone can only be God Himself, the Author as to WHY Christ came. The problem is no one can see or hear God! And in reality? Many don’t believe in God even if many evidences are in plain sight. People tend to seek out other answers except believing that there is God. But thing is, answering the question as to why Jesus came to earth in the first place is very much connected or inseparable in believing that there is God; And that Holy and Almighty God is revealed only in the Holy Scriptures, the Bible.
Now, again many people don’t believe in the Bible, saying such are only stories and myths. Some groups actually make importance of the Bible, but they are not actually reading it or believing in it. Some call themselves Christians but they never believed the Bible as God’s Word but only man’s. They would rather believe in the words of their leaders, who are actually just like them. But thing is, the Bible is the only record that declares Jesus Christ is Truth and the only thing that declares much truths of the situation of the entire human race. In fact, the Bible has always been a reliable unchanging truth for the person who believes in it but is useless to someone who doesn’t really believe in God, in Jesus Christ or the Bible.
Now, what’s my point? To answer the question why Jesus came the first time around must first believe in the Bible. But truth be told, before one could believe on something, one must listen or read what is being said, then the listener or reader can decide to believe / receive the truth or reject it. I have therefore listed herein Bible verses that should explain and answer the question “Why Jesus came to earth 2000 years ago?”. There are actually more or it would be best if the whole Bible is read from Genesis to Revelations because these books are all connected and they all point to Jesus Christ. But I have listed just a few. These verse are not my word, but God’s Word.
But to answer the question, it begins first in the BAD NEWS:
Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Romans 3:10-11
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.”
WHY AND HOW IS IT THAT ALL HAVE SINNED?
Romans 5:12
“Wherefore, as by one man[Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
WHAT THEN if all have sinned?
Romans 6:23a
“For the wages of sin is death;..”
Revelation 21:8
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
BUT THERE IS A GOOD NEWS
John 10:10
“The thief[Satan] cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I [Jesus Christ] am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Romans 6:23b
“BUT the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 10:9-10
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
NO AMOUNT OF GOOD WORKS OR EFFORTS CAN SAVE US… it is only BY FAITH (Believe and Trust) IN JESUS CHRIST (Who He says as He is, Lord, Savior, Master, King)
Ephesians 2:8-9
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Titus 3:5
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”
If you have not let Jesus Christ be part of your life, Now is the time to decide….
2 Corinthians 6:2
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
This [GOSPEL, Good News of Jesus Christ] is the reason why Jesus Christ first came to earth. He took all the punishment for sin that even led to His death, but after 3 days He rose again. And after forty days, showing the evidence of His resurrection and teaching the disciples more, He ascended to heaven and promised He surely will come again. And that before ascending, He declared that this “Good News” be preached in all the world so that whosoever believes shall be saved (John 3:16).
It is here therefore I end and leave the question and decision to whoever reads this. Will you believe Jesus as truth or reject Him?

Driver’s License renewal for 10 years validity in the Philippines is legit!
As of February 2022, I had my try on renewing my driver’s license non-professional. Having read a post in Facebook of someone I know, he was able to renew his driver’s license and also was qualified for a 10 years validity. With his post, he also explained and shared his experience on the application for his driver’s license renewal at the main LTO branch at Pacdal, Baguio City.
Whereas for me? I tried the LTO’s portal at Porta Vaga Mall, Baguio City. And it was pretty quick! Of course provided that everything is ready and there are no long line.
First off, let me share what my friend in facebook shared as the requirements for renewing one’s driver’s license. His post was:
FYI to All Drivers. Save this post for future reference.

So from this post, I went directly and registered in LTO’s portal: https://portal.lto.gov.ph/ords/f?p=1200:HOME::::::
I too took the CDE (Comprehensive Drivers Education) Exam, found under the “E-learning” menu and alas! It was indeed easy. I think it was an exam to test your logic.. ehe!? Although some questions maybe not applicable and therefore can’t be answered correctly. Example? The question was about motorcycles, and I have not driven nor have tried to learn about motorcycles. So simply put, my answer was incorrect. Furthermore, the passing rate was very giving! So I passed! And the certificate was sent to my email and can also be found in the registered account in the portal. Details also about the driver can also be viewed in the portal. And therefore one could also check if the driver has committed traffic violations.
So if you have no violations, you are qualified for a 10-year validity driver’s license. If not, 5 years validity only. And, if you failed the exam? Maybe disqualified? I’m uncertain with this situation. Given that the exam is too easy. I am uncertain as well if you could re-take the exam after failing, but I’m guessing you can.
So now that I was able to comply all conditions except for one condition, which I couldn’t grasp or understand: The “60 days bago ung expiration date (early renew)” or in english “60 days before the expiration date”. Having understood the instruction, I went to Porta Vaga I think “more than” 60 days before the expiration date. Let’s just say 60 + 7 or 8 days. I was told that I should come back on “blank” (stated date)… which is kind of probably the 60th day before the expiration day of my license.
So, OK… Didn’t asked further and to clarify the “60 days before the expiration date.” So, sorry.
They instead advised me to get my medical certificate already which I did. And I paid P450.00 for that. Oh by the way, from the post it said it was P500.00. So I got 50 pesos cheaper. Ehe!?
Oh yeah, the LTO portal in Porta Vaga is found somewhere in the Second Floor / level. On the same level are Driving Schools where one can enroll I suppose. On one stall is an accredited medical clinic that provides the medical certificate.
Oh yes, another requirement is a filled-up ADL (Application for Driver’s License) form. And an interesting one that happened is that the LTO portal / stall was unable to provide me one, instead they asked me that the clinic would provide one for me. But after having been tested and provided with the medical certificate, they (the clinic) instructed me to just buy one in the driving school near them. Which I did and it cost me P5.00 for a photocopy of the ADL form. Alas, I forgot to check the LTO website if they allow downloading of the form. And when I did check, they indeed provide a colored copy. See below photos:
here’s the given photocopy from the Driving School:

Here’ what you can download from the LTO website:

And since, there is a very minor difference from the two. If you would notice from the black and white copy a “Client ID No. _____ Password ____” is placed on top of the form. Whereas from the website of LTO, this is not found on top. Hence, I made my own and made my ADL form which I filled it up. Below is the result:

So when the date came that they advised me to come, I went back at Porta Vaga and lined up since the mall opens at 9am. Oh, yes the guard at Porta Vaga requires the Vaccination card before entering. And, when I was at the LTO’s portal / stall, there were only 2 customers before me. Not long after, it was my turn. I showed my old driver’s license for them to check again and they asked me my ADL form (filled up), medical certificate, if I registered in the LTO website and if I took the CDE exam and passed (printed certificate). And since all requirements were provided, I waited for a few minutes and they called me at the cashier / biometrics window.
I was asked to pay first the P585.00 fee for the renewal (best to prepare the exact amount, esp. if you are the first one to apply). After this, I was asked to place my two point finger on the scanner. I was asked to do this twice (I’m not sure why, but I think the first one was to access my details and the second one was after I paid, which may indicate that I paid the fee. I think…just my thoughts..) After paying, I was asked if there were details I want to change, esp. my photo and my signature. Which, I declined and was simply satisfied with my current details.
After a few minutes, they were able to print my new driver’s license where the 10 years validity is indicated. Although after giving me my ID, I was instructed to take a photo of a printed schedule and the personnel from the LTO portal explained to me that on my fourth (4th) birthday and seventh (7th) birthday after my year of renewal, I have to take again medical test on their accredited clinics but no need to come to their stall / portal. I have simply nodded after their explanation but in my mind I was thinking “so.. I would pay again P450 or P500 on those dates.. OK..”.

So that’s it! And it took me just 15 minutes on my second come back and took home my new driver’s license with 10 years validity.
(P.S. The LTO Porta Vaga portal only transacts student driver’s license and renewal as of now, other transactions are advised to go to the main LTO branch at Pacdal. And it is said that if they have internet problems, transactions at Porta Vaga may be halted or can not be accommodated. But they may accommodate inquiries such as the issues of the two customers before me.)
